Sitting in my office watching the rain falling like stair rods reminded me of a bike ride i did a couple of weeks ago with a few chums. The idea was to ride 170K's around the Thames valley as a training ride for the IM Frankfurt race at the end of July which most of us will be attempting. This ride was cold very wet and a head wind from any direction you ventured towards. Contrary to this was the training ride we did on Sunday just gone where we venured up to Grendon near Northamton to watch James and James race the Northapton Triathlon and olympic distance race. A murky start to the ride at 0600 but by the time we had about 80K's done the weather was warming up and the sky was turning blue. We managed to watch the race and get a suntan in the process. 30+ degrees and we headed home through Woburn a very pretty village, part of the Duke of Bedfords Estate. By the time we got home we had cycled the best part of 180K's and in heat we have not experienced much in traiing this year.
